Federico Villa from Italy has Friederich’s Ataxia and is embarking on a cross Canada journey to meet other ataxians and help create awareness. He arrives in Vancouver the evening of June 7th and we have agreed to meet him on Friday June 8th at 1:00pm in Stanley Park. We will be meeting at the Miniature Railway Picnic site where we have held past picnics. Both shelter #1 and #2 (adjacent) are available at this time. I have not reserved it so it is first come first served. However I foresee little problems with them being used. Let’s aim for Shelter #2 as that is where our picnic is confirmed for August.
As you enter Stanley Park continue on Pipeline Road and watch for the Miniature Railway sign on the right. Public transit has stops in the park closeby, there is a pay parking lot with accessible parking and accessible washrooms near both shelters. Here is a link with a map.
As many will be travelling during lunch hour it was suggested that each bring their own lunch to relax and enjoy.
Please RSVP if planning to attend or if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!
